One of the most challenging things to do in business is negotiation. Having worked in the art world for more than 20 years and negotiated hundreds of agreements with art historians, publishers, curators, museums, auction houses, artists’ estates, artists, and technology companies, I will share some key tips that will make your negotiation process go smoothly. This session will outline some of the most fundamental and effective tips for negotiating on behalf of your own career or for your company. We will talk about some of the common mistakes made in negotiation as well as some tried and true methods of successful negotiation. Please come prepared with questions and sample situations for us to workshop.
