The Global Art Gallery Report is the first and the most wide-ranging report on today's commercial art galleries. Published by Phaidon, it is the first insight of its kind, presenting a detailed and comprehensive portrait of today's gallery scene. In a panel discussion, Magnus Resch will discuss his findings with gallerists Jeffrey Deitch, Stefania Bortolami and James Fuentes. Panelists will shine a light on the future of the art gallery.
Founded in 1969, the Sotheby’s Institute of Art is the first and foremost graduate school for the study of art and its markets. With more than 6,000 alumni working internationally in art fairs, galleries, museums, auction houses, and nonprofits, the Institute’s alumni are shaping the future of the art industry. ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
Book author, university professor and art entrepreneur. He is founder of the Magnus app. Most recent publications include "100 Secrets of the Art World" and the #1 Bestseller "Management of Art Galleries.”
Gallery owner, curator, former museum director, writer and one of the most influential people in the art world. Jeffrey founded his first gallery in 1972 and recently re-opened his gallery in Lower Manhattan. He is responsible for curating some of the most relevant shows in the world, including "Post Human,” "The Painting Factory" and most recently "Overpop.”
Stefania, born in Italy opened her first gallery in 2005, after leaving a top position at Gagosian. Today, she operates her influential gallery out of Chelsea, New York.
James Fuentes is widely considered as a leading voice among the new generation of gallery owners. He opened his gallery in 2007 and was one of the first to populate the Lower East Side, the area where he grew up.
